I should have my visa within a week. Everything went well today at the Consulate. Hopefully I will be home by next weekend:)
Thanks for all your thoughts and support. It's finally coming to an end. I can hardly wait to get back home!!!
Now, another train ride back to Toronto, then drive to Hamilton....lots and LOTS of packing...ARIZONA HERE WE COME!!!

Today Caleb had his first "real" big boy haircut. Aside from a few trims while he was sleeping or squirming, this was the first time and he did so good. Even with the noise of the clippers he just sat there and...well I brought the DVD player as a distraction but he didn't even need it.
He's growing up to be such a big boy!

Terrible two's are in full swing so it was nice to have a moment like that.

family in Arizona

I am calming down a little after the horrible snowstorms that we had to drive in this past weekend. There was a 100 car pile up just ahead of us and even the detour had three transport trailers flipped over which made us have to take alternate, very long, and slippery routes.
I am still extremely tense and my neck is so sore!

Anyway, I decided to take the train to Montreal this weekend with Caleb for my appointment with immigration. I really can't do the drive alone...not after the weekend I had. It will be difficult to not have help in a pretty "foreign" city and I am hoping Caleb likes the train.

Anyway, here's a video of Caleb last night...talking about his family in AZ and saying his abc's. He's so good at his abc's but any distraction....done:)

what I have been up to in 2008

January has been an insane month for me...by the end of the month I will have travelled 2000 miles going to doctor's and immigration appointments, saying gooodbye to family etc.

I have had blood tests and x-rays...multiple passport photos.

I will have done at least 30 loads of laundry, read at least 50 books (to Caleb), played Warlord's Civilizations at least 31 times (I am so addicted, thanks Ryan).

Packing is not my favorite thing and this month is no exception, I will have packed/unpacked suitcases 8 times this month...multiple suitcases!

Toys, toys everywhere!!!!!! I will have cleaned up at least 500 Mr. Potato Head pieces, thank goodness the mega blocks are put up.

Then there is money...I can't begin to tell you how much this month will end up costing us.

It's crazy to thing that all this and I am still not in Arizona yet!

The immigration process has been insane! We've already spent well over $2500 in fees, this month is just the final stuff, thank goodness! Well actually final stuff here...we still have a lot to do when I get back to AZ.

It's been a hectic month to say the least. Hopefully we'll be home in February...stacking on the miles and packing/unpacking, cleaning, laundry etc.
I can hardly wait!!!!

Okay so one of my Christmas presents this year from Gene was sheer cover make up.
When Gene told me about it I told him to go ahead and cancel it. I had those things that automatically send you stuff every month or so and charge your credit card.

Well he hasn't gotten around to cancelling it yet:) and so I tried it today. I have been wanting to try it for awhile but I finally just watched the DVD about how to use it and I must say that I was a little excited to use it.

It is a very cool product and very quick and easy to use. I took a picture...well several. I hate pics of myself and it's so much harder taken them by myself, anyway it's very natural looking and has great coverage. I only have the starter kit but I just may try the program out for a bit and see how it goes. I think they send stuff out every few months.

organization 101

This is the expedit from IKEA...my newest purchase to begin the revamp on my household organization. This baby will go into Caleb's room. I would like to get a couple doors and drawers that IKEA sells to go with. Add some baskets and tubs and voila...a room that will be nice and organized until Caleb gets in it and destroys it. I am serious this kid is like a tornado!
We are officially into terrible two's...I have seen it coming for awhile. I must say that it just makes my days even more exciting:D
Amy has this in her scrapbook room and it is awesome...she has pics on her blog. It works perfect for scrapbook stuff.
So I have set quite a few goals this year and aside from ORGANIZING everything and having everything in a place, a few of my resolutions are:
* eat/drink healthier...not so much soda and juice * try new recipe every month * be more green * spend "quality" family time and of course *scrapbook more!
Well I know it has been awhile since I posted and will definitely try to do more, it's just been completely insane lately. I can't wait for this whole immigration thing to be over!

Christmas morning

Here is Caleb Christmas morning playing with his leap frog farm magnets. Trust me, the dancing has progressed much further as the days have gone by. We had a good Christmas and it was so nice to have Gene here. It was definitely hard without my mom but I know that she was there in spirit. Gene is home now and I have been so busy trying to get things done to get ready to go back home to Arizona. Tomorrow is my doctor's appt. and you could not imagine all the packing and organizing that I need to do:)

Well it's off to bed for me. I have to leave here by 7:30 am.
